Trustee

I have a great passion and interest in supporting the work of EMDP especially in realising its vision and mission to provide educational access and opportunities to deaf children in the pacific islands. I live with my family and work in London. Being hearing and involved in EMDP work have enabled me to appreciate the issue of education problems among deaf people in the pacific, how in the 21st century deaf children still have no access to education.

I am the mother of two grown up children and I work and live in London. I have always had an interest in offering support to Deaf children and young people, hence my decision to join and work with EMDP. I want to see deaf children in Fiji and the Pacific islands have access to education and social activities to achieve their potential. I have had experience working with charities in the past. The trustees of EMDP, and myself as a trustee with your support can make a difference.

Trustee

Hello! I am Kathy and I am one of the EMDP Trustees. I was born in Auckland, New Zealand and emigrated to the UK over 30 years ago. My career have always been about education and social care when I worked at deaf school, and then support worker, caring for my clients. Promoting the quality of education and wellbeing has always been my priority. Naturally as a Kiwi Lady, working for an organisation focusing on the Pacific Islands has brought me closer to home. Along with our trustees, volunteers and supporters, we are determined to improve the quality of life for deaf people living in the Pacific Islands.

Trustee

Hi!  I am Marie.  I live and work in London with my family and am passionate about the work of EMDP.  I believe that all children have the right to have an education and the work we do at EMDP raises awareness and funds for the school in Fiji.   These funds ensure that the Deaf children and young people can have access to an education, as well as learn social skills and lots more. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done. I currently work as a Sign Language Interpreter, love reading and am on several teams at my church.
